From a 1.0 Corsa to a V10 R8 or a Camper Van to an Electric Car, all vehicles with valid Insurance and MOT are welcome. This is a family event and of course we love a supercar, but The CannonBawz Run has always been about bringing the vehicle you have.

Yes, we’ve had EVs attend for the last 8 years. Scotland is very well catered for with EV chargers. You will need to register for the ChargePlaceScotland Network, they will quickly send out a Card to use and you can use the app straight away. As some areas are remote with low signal the card is handy. There are chargers on each route we take spaced out around 30-40 miles. Check out Plugshare or ZapMap for a map of chargers and other networks in the area. Easily 90% are ChargePlaceScotland.

Yes, absolutely. We are a family friendly event. There are often kids in attendance and The CannonBawz run is a growing family.
-
You should receive a confirmation with the event details. A month to 3 weeks before the event you will receive a reminder / welcome message with additional details. Don’t hesitate to get in touch, but keep in mind we all have full-time jobs.

We are including vinyl stickers in the price to help promote the event and show we are part of the same group. As delivery can be challenging and costly these will be put on the morning of each event. The style may change per event and each year, but please have a look at our gallery to get an idea of roughly what to expect.
We don’t demand you use the stickers, but we do encourage it and we don’t stipulate where you have to place them. Whilst displaying the stickers we ask that you adhere to all traffic laws and that they’re remove prior to any sale of your car. -
You will need to pay for your own food, fuel and any accommodation. Usually only the NC500 route requires a nights stay in Ullapool on the Saturday night. But you can camp or get a Hotel. If you are travelling from far away, for example outside Scotland we’d recommend staying somewhere near the event starting location so you can attend the start in the morning fully rested.
-
Yes absolutely, please feel free to stop whenever you need. You will catch up with us at the next stop. We do spread out to avoid congestion and you’ll unlikely see yourself falling behind.

You can either attend our events, buy merchandise from the shop, donate directly to the charities Marfan Trust and The Marie Crawford Boyd Foundation. Or visit our JustGiving Page

The CannonBawz Runs are never a race, it’s a tour and this is made very clear to all attendees. We keep details of drivers and cars if there is any issues. We communicate with Police Scotland as part of organising these events. In the past we’ve been tarred with the same brush as some other groups that have caused trouble. We can’t control everyones actions but we address issues quickly. Having a Paramedic lead us round brings home the reality and importance of safe driving.

That will always be a challenge, but we take it very seriously. We’ve reduced the overall size of events and cars leave in small groups. We also have passengers keeping in regular communication with each other so if there is a road closure or a camper van (not on the event) has broken down on the Bealach Na Ba that we can avoid it until it is cleared. We increase our efforts every year, whilst listening to locals and Police Scotland and we are open to suggestions to keep improving.

The CannonBawz Run prides itself on being a family friendly event with any vehicle and people welcome on this charity event. As we are from the north of Scotland and Kris O’Neill being a local Paramedic we are very much aware of the disruption for locals that can be caused by car groups navigating the NC500 and other routes. With The CannonBawz Run now on it’s 8th year we have learnt a lot during this time. We take steps under the guidance of Police Scotland to avoid causing disruption ourselves, for example limiting the amount of cars that can join and having cars leave in small groups, especially when it comes to the single track roads. These routes aren’t somewhere for us to just check off a list without a care, we live in the regions we tour and we will always support and use local amenities as well as continue to address locals concerns.

Fireworks is a little inaccurate. These were non combustable ecologically safe chalks. Safety is a top concern and has been for us over the last 8 years.
-
Many in attendance drive less before the event, or these events take place of other holidays. The vehicles attending aren’t all supercars, so the majority are fuel efficient. We have a growing number of Electric Cars attending as well.
Support the local area.
